Retention of Girls in School
In 2014 the Ministry of Education and Sports issued a statement requiring all schools to provide adequate emergency menstrual hygiene management facilities for girls to reduce absenteeism and school dropout. ELECU was selected by the Ministry of Education and Sports as a key actor in menstrual hygiene management and supported the organization of a regional conference on Management of Menstrual Hygiene (MHM) and coordinating stakeholders to understand and build capacity in MHM.
