What is FIDA

FIDA Uganda (The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers) is a¬† leading women’s rights organizations in Uganda and the pioneer of legal aid and public legal education in sub-Saharan Africa.
Formed in 1974, FIDA-Uganda is a membership based organization  promoting and defending human rights, with a focus on the rights of women with children as beneficiaries of this of this work

What Does "FIDA" mean?

FIDA (U) is a National chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (in spanish Federacion Internacional De Abogadas) formed in 1948 in Latin America.

Who is Eligible for Membership?

As a membership organisation, only female lawyers above the age of 18 are eligible for membership
